A Break from your usual habit

Ang hirap magpakasal

In General, Others on January 22, 2009 at 10:01 AM

This will be one of many posts about getting married.

Aside from magastos, bakit ba ang hirap magpakasal?

I am scheduled to be married this year. So nagaayos ako ng mga documents na gagamitin for my wedding. Ang daming requirements! Ang daming documents.. ang daming kailangang bayaran!

Why does it have to be complicated? Bakit hindi simple lang?

How hard it is to get married?

First lets talk about the documents that you need.

– Birth certificate (latest.. meaning you have to get a new one from National Statistics Office)

– Certificate of Non Marriage (CENOMAR)

– Baptismal certificate (latest)

– Confirmation certificate (kumpil)

– Marriage license

Problems encountered:

1. You need to get a latest copy of your birth certificate… they say the reason for this document  is to verify your details. Supporting document ba. Pero why does it have to be yung latest? I’ve secured one several times na when applying for a new job. Baka siguro nag change kayo ng details about your birth… baka nag change ang pangalan ng dad. heheheh ..  So get one from NSO main office.. mabilis lang naman. With a fee of course.

2. CENOMAR.. well you need this to certify that hindi ka pa kasal and that you are free to be married. (with fee)

3. Baptismal. You also need to show to the church na nabinyagan ka na.. One of the 7 sacraments. Ok.. no question about that.. But again… why do they need a new copy of your baptismal records? (P75.00)

Dito ako nagkaproblem… The original documents that i had that was given when i was baptized had my correct name on it. Nung kumuha ulit ako ng nagong copy… Mali na ang name ko! Kulang ng H sa name and instead of S.. Z ang nasa middle name. Pinakita ko sa simbahan yung original docs ko… kailangan daw yung latest. HANUBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

so problem na naman… i have to submit several documents na naman to prove na yun talaga ang name ko! What documents? Birth cert, ID, and even transcript of records. WOW…. sobrang hassle!

Sabi ko nga.. in the original document.. tama naman… eh nung unang panahon naman hindi pa masyadong uso ang  dayaan sa records.. why can’t you not honor this document? Ang sagot “utos po kasi ng Archbishop”. Ok fine. utos daw eh..

4. Kumpil /Confirmation

I just found out na hindi pa ako nakumpilan. Sabi ng mom ko.. dati daw kasi kailangan 7 years old ka bago ka magpakumpil.. Yun daw ang UTOS ng simbahan dati… So nakalimutan na daw niya ako pakumpilan. Ok.. hindi ko naman masisisi si mother.

Para magpakumpil… you need to undergo a seminar daw… with your ninong ang ninang… sige.. seminar…then submit your baptismal and birth certificate din. then pay a small amount lang naman.

5. Marrige license

Para makakuha ka ng marriage license.. madami ka rin kailangan isubmit. Sa Marikina city hall kami nag apply ng license.. mas mabilis kasi dito at organized.

You need to fill out 3 copies of a form… hindi man lang carbonized. Submit latest copy birth cert or copy ng baptismal. latest copy of your ID or 2×2 pic whichever you have. A copy of your latest community tax certificate or CEDULA.

Before they would release your license… you still need to undergo a population control seminar. Whole day ito.. You need to pay 150.00 and answer a marriage encounter inventory questionnaire.

See?

Documentation requirements palang yan ha… yung next post ko will be about yung mga walang katapusang seminars! Seminar dito.. seminar dun….
