Senseless Killing: Maguindanao Massacre

In current events, General, Politics on November 24, 2009 at 1:21 PM

It was just a normal day for me when suddenly, I saw plurk messages saying that a group of people have been abducted in Maguindanao and some are believed to be massacred. Last night, it was the headline for most (if not all) news programs. Ismael “Toto” Mangudadatu was on the phone narrating what happened to his family, relatives, supporters, and even the media who were covering the event. Read the rest of this entry »

Bastusan

In General on August 13, 2009 at 7:43 AM

I found Willie Revilliame’s  remarks pertaining to the showing of the inset video of the wake of the late President Cory Aquino during a dancing and giling-giling portion appropriate. But how he executed it was the bastos part.

But if the Aquino family have already forgiven willie, why can’t those na nakikia sawsaw sa issue forgive him too and stop?

Ano po ang pagkakaiba sa pambabastos ni willie sa mga nambabastos kay willie?

Dito yata papasok ang kasabihang “Birds of the same feather make bastos at each other?

Singko tax on text

In General, Others, Politics on March 26, 2009 at 6:16 AM

They had a very hard time selling the 10 centavos tax on text messaging so they are bringing it down to 5 cents. That’s what  Congress – House of Representatives, thru Congressman Danilo Suarez of Quezon is proposing.

Suarez said it is up to the companies to decide if they would shoulder half of the 10-centavo tax, but if they won’t, they can pass on only 2.5 centavos to the consumer.

“If the players would like to absorb it, then there is no problem. If they decide to pass it on to subscribers, it can be half-half, two-and-a-half centavos on the player and two-and-a-half centavos on the subscriber,” he said. – Source

Nicole got Justice

In current events, General, Politics on March 18, 2009 at 11:19 AM

“Nicole,” said she is now conscience-stricken and now doubts if she was really raped by Daniel Smith.

Why Not? With all the pressures both here in the Philippines and from the United States… one would surely be bound to retract any firm statement that was laid down before. Common… its nothing new. We should have seen this happening during the first stages of the trial. Imagine, you going against the entire Philippine governement, the US Military and the US government for that matter.

Its the other way around

In General on February 11, 2009 at 12:14 PM

“In our ethically challenged society, wrongdoing is defended vigorously by the most powerful individuals and institutions.  In our ethically challenged society, to accuse a public official of wrong doing is destabilization. It is a sanctionable act.  Especially when the accusation is based on credible evidence.” – Ricky Carandang

So true in this country called “Philippines”.

Overcrowded MRT

In General on February 3, 2009 at 6:03 AM

Its tru that the more people, the better for business. As in the case of our Metropolitan Railways Transit or MRT, the more passengers, the higher the profit. And the quicker loans, debts, and taxes can be paid by the MRT Management.

Then you have to go to 2 scheduled seminars sa church.. 2 consecutove Sundays.

Ang hirap magpakasal

In General, Others on January 22, 2009 at 10:01 AM

This will be one of many posts about getting married.

Aside from magastos, bakit ba ang hirap magpakasal?

I am scheduled to be married this year. So nagaayos ako ng mga documents na gagamitin for my wedding. Ang daming requirements! Ang daming documents.. ang daming kailangang bayaran!

Why does it have to be complicated? Bakit hindi simple lang?

Foolish or deprived?

In General on November 26, 2008 at 12:49 PM

I was listening to the radio (FM radio mind you) while on my 2 hour travel from one office to another. This station, which is the only station that we could clearly listen to, had a segment where listeners can send their love stories and share it to the listeners and ask for their opinion.

At this point, the story is about a girl, let’s call her Jane. She is in love with a guy named Romeo. To the point that they are now lovers. It’s a bit complicated as Romeo has a former partner who is soon to give birth to his child. Jane tells that she financially helps Romeo in providing for the needs of his son.

Jane asked the listeners if what she is doing is still right and if she should still continue.

Blogging

In General on October 21, 2008 at 12:44 AM

I belong to a group of bloggers. My current active friends are bloggers. Bloggers from all walks of life.. of all gender, of different niches.

Whenever someone asks me what blogging is, i give a standard answer,

Blogging was once a personal online journal now transformed as a powerful media where bloggers, those who writes the articles in a blog, express their feelings and thoughts that serves as guide to those who reads it.

I first blogged in 2002. It was just to experience what the new technology is about and what it can offer. Now, I maintain different blogs with diverse topics such as technology, mobile, locale, photography, etc. It is my way to de-stress and re-stress.
